How to select a photographer

I'm going to explain a few things to my clients. Feel free to share this if you think it would help someone else. In the world of photography, there are typically 2 types of business models we photographers use. The first is "shoot and burn" (s&b) and...

My Story

Wife of a pilot, mama to 4 kiddos, animal lover, traveler, crocheter, blogger, zumba enthusiast, quilter, (usually happy) camper (but only in a “glamper”), piano player, book lover (except I fall asleep every time I actually have a chance to read…), musical theater fanatic, hot cocoa connoisseur, huge fan of FALL, home remodeler. And photographer.

It’s kind of funny – I have spent more time trying to figure out what to write in this “about me” section than the entire rest of the website combined. Here’s the thing – I have spent the last almost 9 years of my life being a SAHM and I am finally ready to start doing something for ME again. Yes, raising tiny humans is important (and exhausting), but I am ready to put on another title besides “mom” now and photography is my way to do that. Like any photographer, I’ve always love taking photos, but I decided to do photography because I love interacting with and helping people. Having 4 kids of my own, I know how fleeting these early years are. I love being able to capture these itty bitty newborns so you can have beautiful artwork for your homes to remind you of how little they once were. I love working with different family dynamics to create memories and photos you will treasure for years to come.

I also try to volunteer my photography skills when I get those opportunities. I donate sessions to different organizations and also at my church. I am blessed to be able to invest in decent equipment and classes to further my skills, and I try to “give back” whenever possible.

As far as doing real estate photography, I also sold real estate for a few years. I decided to combine my love of real estate and photography to offer real estate sessions for those wanting to sell properties! Having bought and sold a couple personal homes, I know how important quality photos are for capturing buyers attention, and I love the challenge of showcasing a property’s “good side”.

I’m pretty much an open book, so if you have questions or comments, I’d love to chat with you!!
